NOTICE TO THE IMPERIAL POLK GUN CLUB MEMBERSHIP

This is to inform you of the upcoming election of Officers and Directors of the Imperial Polk Gun Club.

The term is for two (2) years.  Any member in good standing must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for nomination.  A United States citizen, a resident of Florida for two (2) years, dues paid each year and ability to support the best interest of IPGC.

A Nominating Committee meeting will be held on August 5, 2024, 6:30 p.m. at the Clubhouse.  The nominating committee will accept all nominations presented and seconded if the member is in good standing.  All nominees must be present at the Nominating Committee meeting for their nomination to be considered.  Nominations from the floor may only be made at the Nominating Committee meeting.  The nominee names will be submitted to the Board of Directors for their approval at the September Board meeting and the election will be held October 7, 2024.

Greetings fellow trap shooters.

Attached are the results from the ATA trap shoot held at IPGC on October 17th.  Congratulations to Lewis LaRoche for a great score of 99 in the singles event.  Ron Burdick and Hector Rangel tied with a score of 86 for the top handicap score.  High shooter in the doubles event was Gary French with a score of 94. 

Thank you to Doug Warner, Warner University head coach, for sponsoring lunch.  And thanks to Eli Joiner and Jerry Imber for handling the cooking duties.

A very special thank you to Eli Joiner and Jerry Imber for doing the “grilling and serving” at the ATA Shoot on 9/19/21.  They served 36 hamburgers, 25 hotdogs, macaroni salad, and chips to a very hungry group.  We heard many compliments and thanks regarding the lunch.  We had 29 shooters, compared to 19 last September.

The IPGC 2020 Trap League ended on November 10th, with 44 shooters participating.  The banquet was held on November 17th and the winners were announced.  The “Honor Team” consisted of Bill Brooks, Brian Bierwagen, and Cody Sharp.  High average winner was Steve Hill, besting Eli Joiner by one target.  Receiving their first 25 straight patch included Seth Koulogaines and Jim Hendrickson.  11 year old Bryan Batson received a special award for his perseverance and weekly improvement.

All.

The results from Week 5 of the IPGC Trap League are shown below.  Also, below is some random information you might be wondering about.

  • A very special thank you to Gloria and Ron for cooking/serving the hotdogs, chips, and beverages.  A total of 66 dogs were consumed.  We hope everyone enjoyed them.
  • The banquet is on November 17th.  We hope to begin eating promptly at 5:00 and will be in the clubhouse, on the porch, and on the lawn (if anyone wants, due to social distancing).  More detailed banquet information will be forthcoming. 
  • We hope everyone can attend the banquet.  We have a great meal planned (with dessert) and many door prizes to give away.

Week 4 is complete and top score honors go to Eli Joiner with 48 broken targets.  Nice shooting Eli, congratulations.  Results are shown below.  If you have any questions please let us know.

Next Tuesday, November 3rd, is the 5th week of our trap league.  It’s hard to believe we are closing in on the end.  That day, we are providing free hot dogs, chips, and cold beverages to all the league members and guests.  We will start serving the dogs around 2:15ish and will continue until the last dog is gone.

This is compliments of Sue, Gary, and Bear as a way of saying thank you to everyone for being part of the league.  The league is a bigger success than we could have imagined.  The biggest part of the success is all the help you have provided with set up, scoring, filling the traps, tear down, and policing the fields.  And a very special thank you to Dave Fair.  Each week Dave has arrived early and has the trap fields ready for all of us to enjoy the shooting.

Hope to see everyone next Tuesday.
